Stafford Bridge Doors is a UK-based manufacturer of blast, ballistic and physical security products including, doors, doorsets, windows, louvres and walling. The company is a preferred installer for Securiclad and we have worked with the firm for six years, during which time it has installed numerous secure enclosures across the UK.
Trained in best practice installation methods of the Securiclad system to LPS 1175 and CPNI enhanced standards, Stafford Bridge Doors can also manufacture and install the security doorsets and louvres that a project may require, providing a turnkey solution and a one stop shop for end users.
This installation was for a nuclear facility that requested enhanced fortification to a Government-approved standard for a secure room. The room required both wall and ceiling panels.
Securiclad worked with Stafford Bridge Doors from the sales enquiry right through to structural consultation. As well as supplying materials, Securiclad fully designed the enclosure, providing in-house CAD drawing services, structural calculations, installation recommendations and the manufacture of the panels themselves.
The room measured 7.5m x 4.5m x 2.5m and comprised 100 sqm of panels with all external envelope ancillaries. The facility needed to be fully operational during the build.
As Securiclad’s system is modular and can be retrofitted, its build process is faster and less disruptive to a client’s operations than traditional building methods. This is one of the key making factors in why Securiclad was specified into this project and was ultimately awarded the contract.
Additionally, the high sensitivity of the project and restricted working times required contractors to have special site access permits as well as a permanent escort with supervision by one of the nuclear site’s personnel.
The complex project required ceiling panels to be fixed to brickwork and the Securiclad team provided daily technical advice and assistance throughout.
